July 3-5, 2009 July 10-12, 2009 Countess Svava will be holding a Whim Tourney at Great Northeastern War, but this will be a Whim Tourney like no other. All Fighters must have a consort present to enter the tourney, for they will be participating in the activity. Please let the list mistress know your consorts name, years in the society, and awards earned when you sign up. To begin the tourney all fighters will only be allowed to fight two dagger. At the beginning of the bout each consort will be asked a trivia question about the SCA or medieval history, there is a range of difficulty level of questions to allow consorts of all levels to participate. If the consort properly answers the trivia question he/she may then draw from the bag of weapons and the fighter will change to what has been drawn from the bag. You will keep the weapon you fight with until the next round when you may be able to change depending on the outcome of the trivia question. All weapons will be made available 30 minutes before the tourney so that you may have a chance to use them before entering the lists. The marshal in charge may chose to give you a provisional authorization in a weapons form until the end of the tournament, or other arrangements will be made if you are not authorized in a specific weapons form. All fighters need to have hand protection and the appropriate armor to fight several weapons forms. This will either be a double or single elimination tournament depending upon the number of fighters who choose to participate. Spectators are encouraged. |
